Plot

Kal-El’s homeworld Krypton is destroyed, and his parents send him to Earth. There, he is adopted and raised by Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent in Smallville, Kansas. Clark was isolated as a child due to his superhuman abilities, which he developed over time due to Earth’s yellow sunlight. Clark is currently an intern at the Daily Planet in Metropolis. He also serves coffee to workers. He meets S.T.A.R. Rudy Jones, a lab janitor, informs Clark about extraterrestrial activities going on in the laboratory while he attends the launch of the LexCorp orbital satellite telescope hosted by Lex Luthor. The rocket is misdirected to Metropolis after Lois Lane, a reporter, exposes Luthor’s gross negligence. Clark, the Flying Man, throws it back into orbit. Clark is not aware that a mysterious, trench-wearing figure is watching him.

When S.T.A.R. Labs discover a UFO is approaching Earth. Clark sets out to investigate. However, he is confronted by Lobo, an alien bounty hunter. Lobo tells Clark that he is the last member of his species and has a bounty. Lobo then leads to a fight across Metropolis between the two. Clark wins the fight and takes it to S.T.A.R. Labs cause an explosion, and Rudy is caught in the crossfire. Clark gets covered in purple liquid. Lobo discovers Clark has a weakness in Kryptonite, which he forged in his rings and uses it to beat him. The figure arrives and exposes himself to be a Martian. He intervenes in the battle. Clark heals himself using the sun, and he defeats Lobo as the Martian distracts him. Clark is faced with the dilemma of whether to reveal his identity to the world or keep it secret, despite the consequences. Rudy, who was in the hospital that night, awakens to discover that he can drain energy from his life and make people into husks. Clark is visited by the Martian at his Smallville home, and he introduces himself to Clark as J’onn J’onzz. Clark is told by J’onn about his true origins. He also explains to Clark that their history of Xenophobia means they have to keep it secret from the rest of humanity.

Clark is presented by Martha with a caped suit of fabric, inscribed with “S”, while the media officially call the Flying Man “Superman”. A monster attacks S.T.A.R. Labs are used to discover the truth, but Lobo is freed by the monster after he has drained the energy from his cells. The monster becomes a parasite-like creature and attacks Metropolis, putting its civilians at risk. Superman and J’onn set out to fight the Parasite. The Parasite is able to obtain information from them while they are fighting them. However, Superman’s powers are reduced, and J’onn is burned to the ground. Superman, powerless, turns to a prisoner Luthor to get access to space to regain his abilities. Superman is offered help by Luthor. Through S.T.A.R. Through Labs CCTV footage Superman realizes Rudy is a Parasite thanks to Lobo’s grenade, which allowed Rudy to be absorbed by the purple liquid from the lab. They devise a plan to defeat Metropolis by luring him to a power station so the Parasite can absorb its power. Luthor had also recruited Lobo to his cause in order to use his Kryptonite rings to try to weaken the Parasite’s absorbed Kryptonian capabilities.

Their plan fails, and the military intervenes to make the Parasite even more powerful. Luthor attaches the ring and a LexCorp magnifying rifle pulse rifle to the ring, shooting the Parasite. J’onn stops him from trying to double-cross Superman using the ring and reveals that he has used his projection skills to fake his death. Luthor flees, with J’onn in his wake. Superman uses his morality to try and calm the Parasite after the plan fails. Superman introduces himself to everyone while doing this. The reactor of the plant suddenly overloads. Superman is still weak, so the Parasite gives his life to stop it. Superman and J’onn leave before Lobo discovers that there may be more Martians or Kryptonians.
